How do I use maps without internet?

While online, open Explore, move the map to the area you want, and tap Download this area for offline use. Adjust the purple box, give the map a name and tap Download Map. When it says Ready offline in Settings › Downloaded Maps, it works in airplane mode.

Why is the area I chose "too large"?

Walkk's map provider allows up to 3,000 map tiles or 50 MB per download. Zoom in to choose a smaller area, or download several areas.

How do offline walking directions work?

When downloading a map (up to 150 km²), keep Walking directions on. Walkk downloads OpenStreetMap paths for that area and plans routes on your iPhone. Tap a saved place or drop a pin, then Directions. If the button is grey, routing data for that area hasn't been downloaded yet, or your location isn't available.

"The routing data service is busy"

Walking-path data comes from a shared OpenStreetMap service that is sometimes busy. Walkk retries automatically; if it still fails, tap Retry a few minutes later. Your offline map works without it.

My walk distance looks short.

Walkk ignores GPS readings that are inaccurate or jump implausibly, so distance isn't inflated. Indoors, in tunnels or between tall buildings, GPS may have nothing reliable to record. Keep location set to Precise for best results.

Does Walkk keep recording when my screen is locked?

Yes. iOS shows the location indicator while a walk is recording. If Walkk is closed during a walk, your route up to that point is kept and you can resume or finish it next time.

How do I count steps?

Allow Motion & Fitness when asked, and keep Settings › Walking › Count Steps on.

Can I import routes from other apps?

Yes. Use Journey › Import GPX or Settings › Data › Import GPX Route. Imported routes appear on the map and don't count toward your statistics.

How do I switch to Arabic?

Open the iPhone Settings app › Walkk › Language, or Settings › Language › Change Language inside Walkk.

How do I delete my data?

Settings › Data lets you delete walks, places, downloaded maps, or reset everything. Deleting the app removes all of its data.
